Ellen C. Hanson, J.D.

Ellen C. Hanson has concentrated her practice in Social Security Law for claimants before the Social Security Administration from the beginning of the application to the federal court. She represents claimants in Southern, Central and Northern Illinois United States District Courts and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Her representation of Social Security Claimants is aggressive and forceful as the Social Security Administration in Illinois is significantly denying claimants their benefits.

She is a graduate of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona and Washington University Law School in St. Louis, Missouri. She passed her bar exams in both Missouri and Illinois. She has lived in Illinois since 1971 and has been active in representing the mentally ill, the homeless, and the developmentally disabled in community organizations.

Ellen graduated with honors while at ASU while specializing in the study of Social Work, Sociology and Psychology. She always knew that whatever she did would involve helping others. Disability is personal to so many families. When her father was 13, his father was injured in a farm accident, necessitating that her father as, a 13 year old, had to support his parents and his younger sister and brother. Being disabled is tough and sometimes it seems the obstacles placed by the Social Security Administration are daunting. Ellen is a good listener and has a passion for representing the disabled.
